About Us
Burnside Squash Club stands as one of Christchurch’s largest and best-known squash venues. Located at Burnside Park on Avonhead Road, it offers state‐of‐the‐art facilities including four modern, glass-backed courts, recently upgraded changing rooms, a well-appointed pro shop, and a welcoming bar.
Burnside Squash Club is not only a place for high-level play; it also serves beginners, casual players, and families, fostering an inclusive environment where new members are welcomed and nurtured by a highly experienced coach.

Our Story
Burnside Squash Club is an integral part of Burnside Park’s long sporting tradition in Christchurch. The club emerged during a period when Burnside Park—originally developed from farmland and steeped in local sporting history—became a hub for many sports. It shares this heritage with nearby clubs in rugby, tennis, bowls, and more.
In its early days, the club quickly built a reputation for competitive play, hosting events like the Burnside C grade tournament and nurturing junior talent that went on to compete at regional and national levels. Over the decades, it has been a proving ground for promising players and a centre for community-driven squash.
